New Year, New Cafe

It's 2020! Time to go over what's to come.

So I'll be quite blunt here. Reviving Cafe was a sudden decision that I put absolutely zero thought into, but I'm glad I did what I did. I've got a whole lot in store for the project this year, with support from Bot Lists or not.

So to kick off the New Year here's a new website. Shiny right? Well you can thank the team over at Ghost for making their service open-source.

What does this mean exactly?

It means that I'll be able to host everything on my own now, which may not seem like a lot, but it means a lot of things. For starters, all updates will be posted here from now on, and not on the Discord. I'll still be linking the posts, but they will likely be moved into a direct integration with the bot.... which leads me into the next point....

I'll be working on some nifty ways to link the site to the bot in the future, along with some cool features that Ghost has baked right into it. Sounds neat huh? Sure is! It'll open up lots of new possibilities in the future.

Upcoming Growth

It's no surprise that Cafe is one of the smaller incremental game bots out there, and that's totally okay but I have plans to grow it, and that involves all of you! I'll be working on a reward system for referrals within the bot, though I am not entirely sure how that will work yet, so keep an eye out for a post about that.

I've also been able to secure a really nicely priced server on Contabo- meaning that I currently pay exactly 5.77 USD each month to keep all this running. I do love optimized code. And that is an amount that is totally sustainable for the future! I'd like to add that I am currently working on the bot and all related services on my own, with the occasional help from a few friends that check for bugs or possible faults, while also being in college. What that means is that there will be times in which I focus on my courses first, but never fear, during those times I'll just be less focused on development.

I've got a bunch of content planned, including Tiers, and a whole lot more that I won't reveal or spoil just yet, I'll occasionally post something with a spoiler on the site, so keep your eyes open for those posts.

With that being said- following the next update that will be released at the same time as this website, I'll be switching to a new version format that will work a little like this:

Version Apple Pear Pie 1234

I'm kidding. Or am I?
